Bursary application procedure

Bursary application is closed!

There are a limited number of bursaries available for graduate and PhD students and young scientists who are aged 35 or younger (born on or after 1 January 1983) to assist them in attending the ECM31. Bursaries will be awarded to help with travel and accommodation costs, but cannot be used to pay for registration.

Required documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae containing name, work address and contact details, date of birth, citizenship, education background, employment history, current position, and a list of the applicant’s publications.
  2. A Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s Supervisor or Head of the Department/Group. The letter should confirm the status of the applicant (PhD student, graduate student etc).
  3. A Letter of Motivation for Bursary Application, including a short statement of the applicant’s current research and objectives (maximum one A4 page long).

It is also mandatory to submit an abstract to the ECM31.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. It is also mandatory to submit an abstract.

Deadline for Application

The deadline for the bursary application is on 18 March 2018. Please note that only applications containing all the required documentation will be considered for bursary. There will be no extension of the deadline!

Approved bursary applications

A decision about the bursary application will be communicated to all applicants by 9 April 2018.

Registration procedure

After your application has been accepted, we kindly ask you to register online for the Congress until 29 April 2018. Only after you have registered your bursary application will be validated.

IMPORTANT: Registrations made before 9 April 2018 and paid for will not be refunded in case your bursary application has not been accepted. Please note that travel and accommodation has to be organised by yourself.

Attendance to the meeting is mandatory and will be checked to get the bursary. Please identify yourself as a bursary holder when arriving to the congress for further directions. An identity card will be required.
